Para manter a linha de estar sempre exibindo o que os melhores atletas da nova geração brasileira estão fazendo dentro dágua, o destaque deste ano fica para a nova manobra executada com perfeição por Marcos Sifu, especialista em aéreos e show man.

Ele apresenta para o público o Kerrupt Flip, manobra inventada pelo surfista Josh Kerr ainda pouco explorada no mundo. Sifu é o primeiro brasileiro a executar a manobra e foi elogiado por surfistas internacionais, inclusive o criador da manobra: (Este foi o mais perfeito Kerrupt flip que já vi!).

Produzido por Jack McCoy, resulta do novo lançamento de um clássico de 1998, numa homenagem ao goofy-footer revolucionário - Mark Occhilupo. Occy entrou no circuito mundial em 1983, e, nos anos que se seguiram, na década de 80, foi crescendo no ranking até atingir o 3ºlugar. De repente, no início dos anos 90, Occy desapareceu do mundo do surf. Três anos se passaram, em que, raramente surfava, ao mesmo tempo que o seu peso subiu de 75 kg para 111 kg. Oglevision’s Puerto Escondido IV Exposes the Heart and Soul of Deepest Mexico

In 1996, Dave Ogle and Todd Morcom won a SURFER Video Award for Longest Tuberide for an incredible barrel at Puerto Escondido in Puerto Underground II. Puerto Underground I was released in 1993 and Puerto Underground II in 1996. Now it has been almost 8 years since Puerto Underground III, and the latest installment features the best moments from the last several summers at the Mexican Pipeline. Shooting from land, sea and air, with film and video, Ogle has recorded all the thrills, chills, spills and drillings of surfing one of the gnarliest beachbreaks on the planet.

Puerto Escondido is kind of like Rick's Café Americain in Casablanca. Every summer, the best surfers in the world come for the waters and to test themselves in one of the gnarliest, barreling beachbreaks in the world. Ogle turns his camera on the famous and infamous, world champions and underground chargers and the featured surfers in Alma y Corazon reads like a Who's Who of What's Up: Brad Gerlach, Peter Mel, Skindog, Rob Machado, Dogtown Boyz Allen Sarlo and Jay Adams, the Brothers Long, Hobgood and Lopez. These visitors compliment a local crew who surf the place every day and have those barrels completely wired.

Alma y Corazon features the action at sea, but also gives an underground overview of the town of Puerto Escondido. No longer, a small, sleepy Mexican fishing village, Puerto Escondido is now a booming tourist town built around the barreling beachbreaks that have been attracting surfers since the 60s. Although the Mexican Pipeline is the main attraction, surfers have been spreading up and down the coast both ways to see what is happening, and Alma y Corazon provides some revealing glimpses of secret spots that are about to cause a big sensation in the professional surfing world.

Creepy Fingers

O Creepy Fingers é um filme de surf muito agressivo. As ondas ou são grandes, ou têm um aspecto nada simpático. Arranques em cima de pedras, manobras em cima de pedras, ondas a baixo do nível de mar, ondas gigantes, surfistas a atirarem-se a enormes closeouts, entre muitas outras loucuras.

O filme começa com um dos grandes nomes da Volcom, Gavin Beshen, a descrever a sua vida como surfista. Tudo parece calmo com a imagem de um caracol em movimentos lentos, imagens da natureza e da sua harmonia... este momento é rapidamente substituído por uma música violenta da banda australiana Goons of Doom, que apresenta Mike Morrisey a surfar umas quantas esquerdas com aspecto ameaçador.

A partir daí são várias as presenças de surfistas da Volcom a surfar em ondas pelo mundo inteiro, Austrália, Havai, Indonésia e México. Ondas grandes, ondas pequenas com manobras muito radicais, as novas caras da Volcom, podemos ver tudo.

Os grandes destaques do filme são Ozzie Wright, que por vezes parece estar a fazer um desporto diferente com uma prancha de surf - é o limite do skate aplicado ao surf, com aéreos e hollies com muitas variações. Dean Morrison tem também uma boa prestação. Mas é Bruce Irons que faz a diferença, com uma performance incrível, uma lição de como fazer tubos e de como surfar de uma forma radical e totalmente controlada.
