Jack Maness - Simple Man

Jack Maness is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and keyboardist. Maness began his career singing and playing guitar on Sublime's "Rivers of Babylon", and later joining the Long Beach Dub Allstars as a keyboardist. He is currently in the band Dubcat and has recently released his debut solo album Simple Man featuring members of Dubcat, Slightly Stoopid, and motown bass legend Carol Kaye.

Bag Of Toys - Afternooner

Nano's Contribution

Another band that’s been making plenty of noise on MySpace.

With this cutely-named follow-up album (their first was called Nooner), San Francisco’s Bag Of Toys continue with their idea of kick-back music that’s best captured in their album artwork, a palm tree in the centre of a beer bottle cap. They define their stuff as acoustic surf music, which is as good a way as any to describe their laidback, good-time, easy-on-the-ear simplicity. Typical of what this four-piece does is the sunny, smiley pop-reggae of Everybody Says and How You Gonna. Even a track that seems to have the potential for disturbance – Burn It Down – comes with that same soothing semi-reggae sway, while Rollin’ has them detouring into a little country, equally friendly but with twangier, surprisingly electric guitar. Apart from straightforward but measured drums and bass providing a necessary anchor, they also flesh out the songs on occasion with trumpet and Hammond organ. Throw in some balmy beach feels evoked by a relaxed strum ‘n’ stroll on a couple of guitars and breezy singalong vocals, and it’s a wonder Jack Johnson hasn’t signed them to his label – or would that be typecasting? - Rave Magazine.

A partir dos próximos posts irei por senhas nos arquivos que posto no blog (a senha: www.surfmovies.com.br) pois como alguns já sabem, tem um cara que esta copiando, literalmente, todos meus posts. Começei a botar o link do blog nas imagens para dificultar o cara de copiar, mas não gostei do resultado, achei que estragou as capas dos cds. Agora se ele quiser continuar copiando os meus arquivos, ele terá que informar a senha no post. Estou fazendo isso para dificultar a cópia.

After the success of "Surf Adventures - O Filme," the director and producer Roberto Moura met again the major national and international surfers to continue the search for the perfect wave in the most paradise and visited locations in the world. This meeting was "Surf Adventures – A Busca Continua," a documentary that not only follows the first production, but that comes with the busy travel, juggling and the follies of the talent professionals of the sport. And speaking of talent, the cast is full of them. Marcelo Trekinho, Phil Rajzman, Fabio Gouveia and Kelly Slater. This is some of renamed surfers who play countless adventures on the waves of the beaches in Peru, Mexico, Australia, Tahiti, Chile and coastal Rio-Sao Paulo.

Pepper - In With The Old

This CD has quickly become one of my favorites. When Pepper first came out with Kona Town it blew me away and this one deffinately builds on it. With this CD, they've developed their own unique style that nothing compares to. Its still got that sublime-reggae-dub feel but no one could say they're sublime rip-offs - this disk is completely orignial. Awesome guitar (more prominent than kona) and the bass still kicks. If you have the chance, go see this Hawaiian trio live; they've got so much energy. My favorite songs are Are You Down, Use Me, & Look what I Found but I can't find a song i dont like.
